CAN YOU FIND ME? 

How to access the 1940 Census

v  Go to familysearch.org/1940 census

v  A screen will appear that reads:  Find Your Ancestors in 1940

v  Fill in the blanks for “First Names”, “Last Names”, and “State”

v  Click on “search”

The left column shows the information you put in.  The next column shows possible matches.

When you find the person you want, click on the little camera to the left of persons name.

To see original census, click on “view image”, middle of  left side.

To make image bigger, click on the + sign to the right of “zoom” on top bar.

To print you may have to save a copy, then print the copy.

Indexing

To begin indexing:

v  go to familysearch.org

v  top bar, click on “Indexing”

v  to install the indexing program on your computer, click on “Get Started”, and follow the instructions for downloading

v  if you have already downloaded the indexing program on your computer, click on the indexing icon that should appear on your desktop screen after download is completed
